Things have been going well. Mom and Dad went to Vegas a couple weeks ago and I was supposed to meet them there but shit came up. It was I think the first time I haven’t gone at the drop of a dime. I’ll be out there in June for the WSOP. I don’t stand a very good chance in winning a seat this year. We’ve had the league going for I think six years and I’ve won a seat every year.

I went out very early in February and that pretty much sealed the fate. I’ll need to do extremely well the last two months. By ‘well’ I mean damn near win both. We shall see. I’ll be going to Vegas whether I win a seat or not.

I’ve tossed around the idea of getting into poker coaching for an hourly rate in addition to what I do with Split’s team for a percent. The problem is a) I haven’t been playing enough this year and need to get off my ass and grind some hands, and b) I’ll need to start blogging again. Both are easy. Anyone want to prop bet how many hands I can play this month? lol

Okay, I think I’ll try this again. Let’s see who’s still checking. There’ll be much less ranting and more poker in the ‘take two’ of this blog. I can repost some of the better rants sometime if anyone really wants them. Until then, here we go………

On January 1st a new SplitSuit Protege program began and I am the co-coach of the team. There are 12 proteges plus me and Split for a 14 person group. Split does the heavy lifting by providing rock solid coaching sessions with all the guys and makes videos for them to watch. I contribute by sweating the guys while they’re playing and doing some database analysis to try to find spots where they can either stop losing so much in certain spots or win more in winning spots.

I was nervous when it started because measuring up to a seasoned coach like SplitSuit is intimidating to say the least, but I’m happy to say the whole team is progressing quite well.

I’m sad to report that I just haven’t played the volume of hands I intended to yet this year. The team plus extra income earning activities leave little time for playing. That is finally changing and I should be a factor at the tables more.

I had a real problem cashing out of one of the poker sites I play on. I finally got the check, but because the money was in limbo I could only play 25NL on Stars. It’s been a long time since I played that low, but was quite surprised to see some of the regs down there that I used to butt heads with at 50NL. Weird.

Oh well. I promise to update regularly.
